Brand identity and website design under one roof.

You hear it more often, it’s easier to have everything under one roof. Sometimes that’s not the case, but with a brand identity and website design, it definitely is! Why? I’ll (Arjan) try to explain it simply.

A comparison

I’d like to start with a comparison. Say you’ve bought a Nissan without a spoiler. After a while you decide it would be nice to have a sporty spoiler fitted. You choose to go to the BMW garage to have the sought-after spoiler installed. The BMW specialist obviously has no idea about the ins and outs of a Nissan car. The BMW spoiler does get fitted, but it will never be a genuine Nissan one and therefore won’t have the Nissan look and feel either.
Combining brand identity

Aligning brand identity and website design

The same actually goes for combining your brand identity and website. Whoever takes care of your complete brand identity understands how you want to present yourself as a company. A brand identity springs from an idea. Someone else will never be able to convey that idea in quite the same way. Often, when company A develops the brand identity and company B builds the website, it leads to inconsistency. Have your brand identity and website design realised by one and the same person, and you’ll see everything fits together perfectly. That inspires trust and also radiates professionalism.

Brand identity and website design

Different

Now, a brand identity is completely different from a website. Both require completely different thinking for different expressions. A brand identity is of course originally for offline use, whereas a website is logically for online use. Yet they increasingly flow into one another, for instance when we talk about Facebook banners versus banners, and Google ads versus adverts. Then it’s handy to have one person with knowledge of both offline design and the online use of brand identities. By now I can say that we have a lot of experience combining both your offline and online brand identity. In that sense, we’re the BMW mechanic in a Nissan garage — except we do make it fit!
