Webba & Peat Digital join forces.

Emmen, 2 January 2024 – Webba, a leading full-service internet agency from Hoogeveen and Emmen, is joining forces with marketing agency Peat Digital from Emmen. The shared ambition to help (large) SMEs from the region and beyond move forward online sparked the connection that grew into a wonderful agency group. Webba and Peat Digital are entering the new year together, so they can offer entrepreneurs from Assen, Emmen, Hoogeveen and beyond broader advice in 2024. By combining existing knowledge of technology and design with Peat Digital’s online marketing knowledge, a solid partner with 30+ specialists emerges for every entrepreneur. We’re happy to take you through this development.

Cross-acquisition

Peat Digital, founded in 2020 out of the ambition to build a specialised marketing agency for South-East Drenthe, has been closely connected to internet agency Webba ever since its start. Founded by former employee Joran-Lars Busscher and with many shared clients, it’s a clear match in proposition, ambition and positioning. “Standing beside an entrepreneur and not thinking, out of some kind of messiah complex, that you always know better. Making online marketing accessible again, so not just corporates but also the self-employed plasterer can get the most out of the internet. We saw the same philosophy at Webba and decided to tighten the ties.” Through the cross-acquisition, an agency group of more than 30 specialists in the field of marketing, technology and design emerges.

Marketing central, full-service together.

Both organisations see growth in marketing questions among customers, where marketing and web development are inextricably linked. Through this merger, both companies can further specialise, develop and take the quality of the work delivered to the next level. The marketing team doubles and can also gain insights from technology and design. “This way we can advise our clients better & more broadly. Through the growth of the team, we can also better keep pace with developments in the market in terms of knowledge, such as AI, for example,” Busscher continues. Jan Leijssenaar, Webba’s general director, is also enthusiastic: “We were already a technical web agency, and now we can also step on the gas with online marketing, making us truly full-service.”

Independent together

The strength of both agencies lies in the independent proposition and the warm ties with specialist partners. Busscher: “We definitely want to keep committing to this too. At Peat, our partners are important to us, and despite the connection with Webba, we’ll keep giving independent advice to our clients, matching the right partner with the right question. The same goes for Webba.” Both companies are members of Communicatie Club Noord, a partnership including Webba, Villa5, Bureau Blinkers, Studuo and now also Peat Digital. From this partnership too, they advise businesses on the best match depending on the question.

Changes in management

Busscher has joined the shareholders & management of Webba, in the role of commercial director. The rest of the management of both organisations consists of Jan Leijssenaar (general director), Ronnie Karstenberg (operational director) and Bernard Visscher (technical director). For clients of both organisations, little changes: the points of contact remain the same, the existing colleagues of Peat and Webba all remain involved with the new organisation, with Evelyn Lok operationally managing the Peat Digital label under Joran-Lars. Evelyn, already brought in by Webba, has more than 10 years of marketing experience on both the client and agency side, and will work together with Joran-Lars to take the marketing team’s level to the next level.

Administratively, nothing changes in the short term. Should this change after all, clients will be informed of this in good time.
